Powerdesk
Established in 1995 as a Technology-enabled Furniture Manufacturer, Powerdesk was established with the aim “to redefine the computing experience” for the personal computer user community. Powerdesk successfully merged beautiful, invisible, high performance computing power with the benefits of security, space savings, better ergonomics and easy upgrades. In early 2007, Powerdesk on the back of its experiences restructured itself into a pure-play Technology company - Powerdesk Technologies (PDT). By launching its first product, Freemote, the first ever remote control for a PC.
Freemote provides a true solution to the clumpy PC case and trailing wires without compromising any PC functionality. 'Freemote' is a sleek, elegant box which duplicates the PC's controls – on/off, mic & headphone, operating lights, USB ports and Optical drive – and sits in or under the workstation at the user's fingertips.
Once Freemote has been connected to the PC by our simple plug-and-play connection, the Freemote's controls activate the computer in the same way as the controls on the computer case do.
This duplication allows the PC to be fully hidden away, as the user no longer needs access to it on a daily basis. However since the PC is not broken apart or modified in any way (the only requirement Freemote needs is a spare expansion plate on the back of the PC) it is easy to upgrade, modify or repair as necessary.
